Our stance on tithes
Tithing is a heart issue and no one is forced to tithe. We believe tithing:
-
tests your obedience and faith in God's ability to supply all that we need
-
reveals who’s first in our lives.
-
breaks strongholds to the generosity
-
enables all of us to succeed in His personal and corporate call on our lives.
Tithing is one of God's tools for ushering us into a generous lifestyle. We also give offerings in addition to the tithe
The word "tithing" means a "tenth" and it is a way of honoring God with the first 10% of our income.
We give the “tithe" in obedience to the word of God by bringing the full tithe to the storehouse (your home church) - Malachi 3:10.
Is tithing an old testament concept?
Some people feel uncomfortable with the word tithe and point out that it is an Old Testament concept.
Jesus said that He came to fulfill the law; the law viewed through New Testament lenses is good - the Holy Spirit helps us see we are free to obey the law and thus to tithe and give above the tithe (offerings).
